Kirenge Gold Medium Roast is our most versatile cup, and the one most customers discover they can finally enjoy without milk or sugar. Grown at 1,500–1,800m on the red volcanic soils of Kirenge Farm, our Kenyan Arabica develops a natural sweetness during slow high-altitude ripening that most blended coffees have to fake with additives. We just roast it to the point where that sweetness comes through cleanly.
Bright blackcurrant sweetness opens the cup. Milk chocolate body carries through. Clean, tea-like finish. Nothing bitter, nothing harsh, this is what single-origin Kenyan arabica at medium roast is supposed to taste like.

Most dark roasts are strong in bitterness, not in quality. Kirenge Gold Dark Roast is different. We start with Kenya AA arabica, the highest classification in Kenya's grading system, and roast it to bring out deep caramelized sweetness and full body without the char. The result is a bold, intense cup that's bold in all the right ways.
One thing worth knowing: dark roast has essentially the same caffeine as our medium or light roast by weight. What changes is the flavor profile, deeper, richer, and lower in acidity. This also makes it the friendliest option if you have a sensitive stomach.

Kirenge Gold Light Roast is crafted to let Premium Kenyan Arabica beans speak for themselves. Did you know that light roast retains slightly more caffeine per scoop than dark roast? The longer a bean roasts, the more caffeine it loses. Which means Kirenge Gold Light Roast, our brightest, most vibrant cup, is also the highest-caffeine option in our range, at approximately 175–200mg per 8oz.
Grown at 1,500–1,800m on the red volcanic soils of Kirenge Farm, our SL-28 and SL-34 arabica is harvested at full ripeness and roasted lightly to preserve everything the highland terroir developed: bright citrus acidity, complex fruit character, and a clean sweetness that makes this the coffee of choice for pour-over enthusiasts.
